Welcome to Christ Church Heaton - What do we believe?
We believe that God is the Almighty Creator and loving Father of those who trust in him. He made himself known in history, supremely in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ who died and rose again making it possible for rebellious people to be forgiven and receive eternal life! We believe that the work of the Holy Spirit is 100% necessary to make the death and resurrection of Jesus effective in an individual's life. He enables us to understand the Bible and behave in a way which pleases the Father - not just on Sundays but 24/7!
We take the Bible seriously because it is the inspired word of God, telling us what He is like and how we can know Him. We aim to be a straightforward Bible teaching church helping people live under the Lordship of Christ. For details of what we will be studying please see the Main Meetings section of our "What's on" page. To hear the Bible talks take a look at our "Download" page.
We take prayer seriously and are committed to praying together when we meet. Our main prayer meeting is on the First Monday of each month. For details see "Diary" page.
We take friendship seriously so at all our meetings we have plenty of time to chat, giving space to support, encourage and build up one another. For details of events please see the events section of our "diary" page.
We take telling others about the Lord Jesus seriously. Our catchphrase is "the 95 not the 5", which means we are seeking to engage with the 95% who don't attend a church, rather than the 5% who do. To help this we make our meetings relaxed and user-friendly, run Christianity Explored, and support others engaged in similar work in the UK and beyond.
