Hugo Charteris (Minister)

Hugo Charteris

Hugo is the Minister of Christ Church. Before moving to Newcastle he was an Anglican minister on the Wirral and an active member of the North West Partnership. He is married to Jenny and they have 2 children, Nicola and Tim. Although raised in South Africa, Hugo sees himself as a true Geordie (even if no-one else does).

Mark Anderson

Mark is an elder at Christ Church Newcastle and leads a home group. He works as a doctor in the Great North Children's Hospital. He enjoys random trivia, reading, cooking, watching films and live music.  He would like to go running, play badminton and squash and generally be more active but only if it didn't involve actual effort.

He is married to Joanna and they have 2 children, Ben and Georgina.

Phil Carvel

Phil and Catherine

Phil is an elder at Christ Church Newcastle and is on the graduate scheme at Northumbrian Water. His other passions include pure mathematics and much to Catherine's disappointment, football. Catherine is assistant treasurer at Christ Church and works for Price Waterhouse Coopers. She enjoys sailing in all weather conditions and then curling up on the sofa with a good novel.

Mat Martin

Mat Martin is the Assistant Minister of Christ Church and has a focus on the Fenham congregation. He is married to Elisabeth and they have three children, Valerie, David and Jim. He loves to get out into the wilderness to trek, and will own up if pressed to being an Arsenal Fan.

Stephen Pugmire

Stephen is an Elder of Christ Church Newcastle and leads a Home Group midweek. He works full time as a Civil Engineer in Newcastle, managing projects. He is married to Tracy with three daughters, Eve, Ruby and Molly. They moved from his native Manchester in 2009, and now they have become settled in the North East of England.

Anne Oyewole

Anne is a regular member of Christ Church and oversees the kids work (ages 4 - 10). She is a postgraduate student at Newcastle University (something to do with biology and skin). She supports Arsenal, loves talking about her hometown (London) and knows the best places for coffee and cake.
